Club Rec Day Recreation Program

A supervised day recreation program with social and wellness activities for adults with a disability or physical limitation.

What is Club Rec?

Club Rec is a day recreation program for adults with a disability or physical limitation who can benefit from supervised social, recreational, and wellness activities. Through an integrated approach, the recreational therapists at Club Rec promote healthy living and help individuals adapt to life after illness or injury, with the goal of enhancing quality of life.

Club Rec meets daily Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Members can attend one to four days per week. It is a non-medically based program and is not covered by insurance, however financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

Club Rec members have access to:

  • Organized recreation programs
  • Health and leisure education
  • Coping skills group
  • Spirituality group
  • Use of recreation/adaptive equipment
  • Access to the computer lab
  • Use of the onsite fitness center with equipment designed for people with limited movement
  • Use of the therapeutic pool
  • Community service projects
  • Arts and crafts
  • Cooking group
  • Community reintegration outings

Club Rec Plus

Club Rec Plus is a program for members who also need physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy. These services are available onsite at Club Rec from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Therapy services require a physician referral and are typically covered by insurance. There is a $10 fee in addition to the cost of therapy services.

Combining comprehensive therapy with recreation and wellness services provides greater physical, cognitive, emotional, and social opportunities than traditional outpatient therapy alone. This is particularly beneficial for individuals continuing recovery following a stroke, traumatic brain injury, or spinal cord injury.

Additional benefits of the Club Rec Plus Therapy Program include:

  • The unique combination of therapy and Club Rec services provides an excellent avenue for someone who benefits from outpatient therapy and requires assistance with toileting.
  • Club Rec Plus Therapy provides a respite for the member’s family/caregiver(s).
  • Club Rec Plus Therapy provides a support system for members.

Please note: individuals who participate in the Club Rec Plus Therapy Program must be independent in medication management.
