Sheltering Arms Concussion Expert Featured on NBC12 WWBT

Cristin Beazley, PT, DPT, concussion program leader at Sheltering Arms, was featured on the Richmond, Virginia NBC affiliate’s noon news on February 10, 2017. In her interview, she answered questions about concussion symptoms and treatments.

Beazley explained that a common misconception is concussions occur from contact sports. Any insignificant impact that makes a head and body move so the brain moves within the head is enough to cause a concussion. That could be a fall, a car accident, or a slight impact that is just enough to alter the chemistry in the brain. Symptoms include persistent dizziness, headaches, not feeling “right,” difficulty sleeping, blurry vision, or fogginess. Treatments vary depending on the case.
