Therapeutic Recreation

At Sheltering Arms, we are dedicated to helping patients regain as much independence as possible, including returning to the leisure and recreation activities they love following injury or illness. A therapeutic recreation specialist meets with each patient while in the hospital to discuss desired leisure activities and work on any modifications that may be necessary to participate in those activities after discharge. In some cases, they even work with patients to learn new activities.

Living with a condition that limits mobility does not mean a lifetime of sitting idle. Therapeutic recreation specialists at Sheltering Arms prove it by helping patients find ways to enjoy active engagement in life every day!
